Lonestar College Fire Academy at Porter Fire Department

Porter Fire Department has entered a partnership with the LoneStar College District to provide a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Fire Academy at Porter Fire Department Station 121.  This is a college credit academy designed for the working student who resides in the East Montgomery or Northeast Harris Counties. 

Classes Start in January and go through August.  Students attend class Monday through Thursday 5:30 to 10:30 P.M. and two Saturdays a month from 8:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M.

Students who complete the Fire Academy program are well on their way to an Associates Degree in Applied Science.  Our partnership with the Cy-Fair campus allows students to attend class without the commute.  They can take all core courses such as English, math and computer science at the Kingwood campus and all degree subject matter courses are offered online through Cy-Fair.  For students in this area there is no commute, no out of district fees, and no hassle.  They can even register at the Kingwood Campus or online.  For more information contact:
