Charles Martin
Chief Martin started in April 1983 as a volunteer with Kingwood Area EMS and found his way across the floor to the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department the following year.
In August of 2020, Chief Martin came to the Porter Fire Department following a 34 plus year career with the Houston Fire Department; having retired from Special Operations as a District Chief over the Deployable Operations Group which oversaw participation with TIFMAS, Texas Task Force, and the operations of the Marine Unit, Incident Management Team and Drones.
As the Assistant Fire Chief, he oversees the daily operations of a department in a portion of Montgomery County that can only be described with explosive growth and the challenges to build a fire protection deployment model to keep up with the daily demands.
Chief Martin today is also the Deputy Team Lead for the Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Management Team (RED) one of three in the State of Texas.
